Certified Pennsylvania Elder Law Specialist

Robert C. Gerhard, III is a certified elder law attorney, one of just a few in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Why certification? It shows a committment to elder law.

Under the ethical rules applicable to Pennsylvania lawyers, only those who have obtained the "Certified Elder Law Attorney" designation can advertise to non-lawyers that they specialize in elder law. Mr. Gerhard is an elder law specialist.

Robert C. Gerhard, III has earned the designation of Certified Elder Law Attorney from the National Elder Law Foundation. The National Elder Law Foundation is accredited by the American Bar Association and is authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to certify elder law attorneys.

A Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) is more than just an attorney who specializes in the field of elder law. CELAs are committed, through certification, to maintaining and improving their proficiency through continual practice and continuing legal education.

Mr. Gerhard limits his practice to elder law and has done so since 1995. Mr. Gerhard not only attends continuing education courses, he teaches them. Although the basic continuing legal education requirement for attorneys is only 12 hours, Mr. Gerhard regularly earns more than double the minimum annual requirements.  Mr. Gerhard is author of Pennsylvania Medicaid - Long Term Care, now in its third edition, published by the George T. Bisel Co.  Mr. Gerhard is a committed elder law specialist.
